Well known on both sides of the Atlantic as a maritime historian and writer, Mark D. Warren has, for the past 20 years, been researching the evolution of transatlantic steam navigation, with a particular emphasis focused on the design and construction of ships.

An avid collector of rare shipping and naval books, supplemented by scarce memorabilia and ephemera from ocean liners, Mark Warren has been intrigued with the subject ever since he was introduced to Walter Lord's memorable novel about the Titanic, A Night to Remember , more than two decades ago. This fascination steadily grew and the research that evolved eventually led him to publish in England the much acclaimed Engineering and Shipbuilder series reprints on the Cunard liners , Lusitania , Mauretania, Aquitania and The Second Mauretania . A fifth volume, Campania & Lucania , was also published in England , in 1993, and includes a history of British and American North Atlantic steamships from 1819 to 1918.

For each of these books, Mark Warren has written a meticulously detailed and comprehensive introduction outlining the history of these great ships and has added a new, supplemental photograph and blue print section; all of which have been carefully designed to complement the original text.

In addition to his writing and research, Mark Warren is also an accomplished lecturer, having been featured as the guest speaker on various ships including Sagafjord, Royal Viking Sun and QE2 . He has also traveled widely, having visited more than 50 countries.

Born and raised in Princeton , New Jersey , Mark Warren currently resides in midtown Manhattan.
